Lose It!'s free version covers calorie tracking, but photo and voice logging, macros, and syncing with smartwatches and fitness trackers need Premium, and barcode and label scanning are moving there too. In Cicolator there's nothing to unlock: label reading, barcode scanning, meal portioning, Magic Entry, widgets, and Save to Apple Health are free for everyone, with no ads. The only purchase is an optional tip.
A database of 50 million foods makes it easy to find something close to what you ate, but close isn't exact, especially for recipes split into servings. Cicolator takes calories from the label on what you buy and from the ingredients of what you cook. Weigh a finished dish once, and every portion after that is a quick weigh of your plate.
